Help our Scout sites stay safe, welcoming and well-loved
Our Scout campsites at Phoenix Campsite and Tingley HQ are well used and well loved — but like any busy place, there’s always a list of small jobs that need attention.
We’re looking for a practical, willing adult to help give these sites the care they deserve. No single task is huge, but together they make a big difference to the young people and volunteers who use them.
The work is varied and changes with the seasons, and could include things like:
Fixing wobbly benches, loose hooks or squeaky doors
Replacing broken latches, hinges or fence panels
Painting, sanding and general TLC
Helping keep stores, shelters and outdoor areas usable
Spotting small problems before they become big ones
You choose what you’re comfortable doing - nothing specialist is expected.
Anyone who enjoys practical jobs and takes pride in seeing things work as they should.
You don’t need formal trade skills - just a practical mindset, basic tools, and a willingness to help.
Completely flexible.
You might pop down occasionally, help with a few jobs in one go, or take on tasks as and when they suit you.
