Trustees are always needed
Help shape amazing adventures for young people — in a way that fits around your life
Our Scout Group is looking for a few supportive adults to join our Group Trustee Board. You don’t need to wear a uniform, know how to tie knots or have any prior Scouting experience — just a willingness to help make sure our group runs safely and successfully.
Trustees work as a small team behind the scenes to make sure the Group:
Is safe and well-run
Uses its money responsibly
Looks after buildings, equipment and resources
Supports the volunteer leaders who run section meetings
Think of it as helping to run a small community organisation — but with plenty of support, training and guidance available.
Parents, carers and other supportive adults are all welcome. You don’t need any specialist skills — just everyday common sense and a willingness to help. If you do bring experience in things like finance, admin, communications or people-management, that’s a bonus, but absolutely not essential.
Not much!
Trustees usually meet a few times per year and keep in touch by email or message in between. The role is designed to fit around busy family life.
You’ll make a real difference in helping young people thrive
You’ll support the leaders and the brilliant activities they deliver
You’ll gain valuable experience and knowledge
You’ll be part of a friendly team making positive change locally
If you’d like to know more or are curious about what’s involved, we’d love to chat. There’s no obligation — just a chance to learn how you could help.
Fill out the form and we'll be in touch to discuss this opportunity with you. No commitment required - let's have a chat!
We'll get back to you within 48 hours
