Handy-Person
District-wide role
Support local Scouting by helping maintain and care for our campsite & building, one job at a time.
A flexible, behind-the-scenes role helping our Scout District stay organised and connected.
Help keep Scouting running smoothly - without needing to be an expert
Our Scout District is looking for a District Secretary to help support the volunteers who deliver great Scouting across our local area. This is a behind-the-scenes role that plays a vital part in keeping things organised, connected and running well.
You don’t need prior Scouting experience or specialist knowledge - just good organisational skills and a willingness to help.
Working as part of a supportive District team, you’ll:
Help organise and record District meetings
Send out agendas, notes and key information
Keep simple records up to date (like contact lists)
Act as a friendly point of contact for the District
You won’t be doing this alone - there’s plenty of guidance, templates and support available.
Parents, carers and other supportive adults are very welcome.
If you’re organised, reliable and happy using email and basic documents, you already have everything you need.
This role is flexible and designed to fit around work and family life.
Most tasks can be done at home, at a time that suits you, with a small number of meetings each year.
Make a real difference to Scouting in your local community
Use skills you already have - or build new ones
Support hundreds of young people by supporting their leaders
Be part of a friendly, appreciative team
