That's completely up to you. Some volunteers help every week at meetings, while others just help out occasionally at events or camps. We have roles that need as little as one hour per term. We'll work with you to find something that fits your schedule.

All our volunteers who work with young people need a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Don't worry - we handle all of this for you and it's completely free. We also provide safeguarding training to ensure everyone knows how to keep young people safe.

It depends on your role. If you're helping regularly at a group, you'll usually wear a Scout shirt (which we can help you get). For occasional helpers and behind-the-scenes roles, there's no uniform requirement at all.

Absolutely! Many of our volunteers are parents of Scouts. It's a great way to be involved in your child's activities and see them develop. You can volunteer at your child's group or at a different one - whatever works best for you.

You'll never be thrown in at the deep end. New volunteers are paired with experienced leaders, and we provide ongoing training opportunities. There's also a whole community of volunteers to learn from and share ideas with. We're all in this together!
